Overview
Lambeth is an inner London borough located on the south bank of the River Thames in the centre of London. It’s unemployment rate of 6.2% is above the rate across London of 4.9%. The borough also has a higher proportion (8.4%) of the working-age population on out-of-work benefits, compared to most other London boroughs (the London rate is 7.7%).
Nearly six in ten (58.5%) of students in Lambeth achieve grades between 9-4 (equivalent to A*-C under the old system) in GCSE English and Maths. This is significantly lower than the London rate of 68.7%.
